Beach Week - Food and Accommodation:

Accommodation is in a beach resort close to the sea in a double shared twin-bed room. The doors and windows are screened (to protect you from mosquitoes). There are fans in the room and most rooms have a lockable wardrobe and drawer.

There are limited laundry facilities so expect to wash your clothes by hand. All participants are expected to be environmentally aware and to use all resources with restraint, especially water, paper and electricity. You will be expected to clean up after yourself, and to play your part to keep the accommodation neat and organized.

All food is included during your stay. The meals will be typical Thai fare, including plenty of rice dishes.

Other Important Information

Program Extension:  Participants who decide to extend their program up to a maximum of 6 months, will spend the extended time at one of our Programs as outlined above.

Participants may choose to extend this program up to a maximum of 6 months for an additional fee of $200.00 USD per week.

Table Etiquette:  Thais eat their meals with a spoon and fork.  The back of the fork is used to push food onto the spoon while the spoon is the main utensil used to put the food into your mouth.  For cutting, the fork is used to hold the item in place and the edge of the spoon is used like a knife.  Ocassionally, chopsticks are used in conjunction with an oriental spoon when you are eating soup.

Breakfast – a typical breakfast would consist of coffee, tea, milk, juice, cereal toast/croissant, rice porridge, fruits or eggs.

Lunch – A typical lunch dish is a bowl of noodle soup or a lunch plate.  Lunch plates consist of rice noodles with vegetables, meat or seafood.

Dinner – a dinner will typically consist of several dishes – vegetables, fish, meat or chicken, all served with sauces or curry, along with rice or noodles and possibly a soup.

Desserts normally consist of different types of fruits.  Water is usually the drink of choice for most meals.

When you go out for meals, most menus will be in Thai. Should you desire a second helping at a restaurant, it would be proper for you to offer to pay for the additional food. It is also proper for you to offer to pay for any special foods and meals, including meals on weekend outings.
